Metro
Metro Line 3 allows you to connect to different train lines from Monastiraki station to the airport.

Taxi
A taxi to the centre usually costs around 25€.

On the other side of the hill, we recommend a visit to the Areopagus, the site of the Ancient Agora or market which includes the Temple of Hephaestus, the Library of Hadrian and the Philopappos Hill, also known as the Hill of the Muses.
Close to Plaka, you simply must visit the Arch of Hadrian and the temple of Olympian Zeus. Also very close is Syntagma Square (the epicentre of the city), where you can visit the Greek Parliament, the tomb of the unknown soldier and see the famous changing of the Evzone guards, which is particularly good on Sundays at 11 a.m.
In the central Panepistimiu Street, the most beautiful neoclassical buildings in the city are to be seen; these are the National Library, the University and the Academy.
Noteworthy museums are the Acropolis Museum, National Archaeological Museum, Byzantine Museum, Cycladic Museum, National Art Gallery, Museum of Greek Folk Art, and Benaki Museum.

Shopping
The most exclusive commercial district in Athens is Kolonaki, where you will find designer boutiques alongside elegant cafes and very chic restaurants.

Cafés
Its centre is the Platia (square) Kolonaki, a great place to have a coffee, a frappé or to go for a drink in the evening in one of the quaint cafes or pubs in the square. Nearby you will find the funicular railway that takes you to the summit of Likavitos Hill.
